Wow this was really good! It had that Harry Potter element with being ‘Marked’ and sent away to a boarding school and learning about this totally new life and world you’re now living in. The main difference is of course that the students aren’t witches and wizards they are vampyres!
I loved the setting and the whole concept of the story but most of all I loved Zoey. She is this amazing young girl who takes all the changes happening to her in her stride. She is a refreshing change from some young adult books heroines as she is strong, independent and confident. Of course there’s the obligatory love interest in Erik but Zoey doesn’t fall head over heels in love, there’s no stupidity on her part which I loved!
All in all I loved the first book in this series and I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on the next installment.
